Retro-Commissioning

Getting your systems back to designed operational conditions, while lowering energy/operating costs, is Retro-Commissioning. It is now referred to as Existing Building Commissioning or EBCxP.

Retro-Commissioning is a process that seeks to improve how building equipment and systems function together. Depending on the age of the building, retro-commissioning can often resolve problems that occurred during design or construction, or address problems that have developed throughout the building's life. In all, retro-commissioning improves a building's operations and maintenance (O&M) procedures to enhance overall building performance. (Defined by the US Government at http://cx.lbl.gov/definition.html)

Over the past 30-plus years supporting facilities, I have directed my attention to see what can be done about the amount (cost) of energy needed to operate a facility and if an upgrade is needed. I have the knowledge, experience and ability to support you and your facility with operations and energy optimizations. Recently, I was certified as a QCxP (Qualified Commissioning Process Provider) and will focus on Existing Buildings and new construction.

Whether you need Commissioning, recommissioning and Retro-Commissioning, they all focus on getting your systems and equipment to operate as they were designed. The age of the systems within your facilities will determine the direction of the process that will get them operationing as designed, if not better. I will work with you, your staff and other professionals, as needed, to get your facilities operating more effective and efficient. You will also lessen the complaints related to the environmental conditions encountered by staff and visitors.
